WELSH RE-ENACTOR WINS TOP AWARD

Sergeant Paul William Harris of the Glamorgan Constabulary Police Re-enactment Group Swansea won the category for the best dressed individual award at the Gloucester City Goes Retro event on 25 Saturday 2018.

The judges were the cast of the famous BBC sitcom 'Allo Allo' including Herr Otto Flick (Richard Gibson), Yvette Carte-Blanche (Vicki Michelle), Lieutenant Hubert Gruber ( Guy Siner) and Private Helga Geerhart (Kim Hartman.

Lieutenant Gruber said when he announced SGT Harris as the winner that the attention to detail in the uniform was truly amazing.

Sgt Harris said: " There were dozens of re-enactors vying for these coveted trophies and all were brilliant. I was overcome with emotion when Lieutenant Gruber looked at me and said I had won. He presented me with a beautiful beveled glass trophy for the best-dressed individual. The crowd clapped and cheered in approval of the cast's decision. I thanked all the cast members, Colin Organ, organizer of the event for the Gloucester City Council who had invited me to the city for the occasion, I also thanked the Mayor and High Sheriff of Gloucester City as well who were present on stage."
